A place for pinned and running apps
Pin the apps you return to, see which apps are running, and drag buttons into your preferred order. Sill marks the active app so you can tell where you're working. Click a button to open or return to an app. You can also choose whether open windows share one app button or appear as individual titled buttons.
Find apps from the launcher
Open Sill's launcher and type an installed app's name. Use the arrow keys to select a result and Return to open it. This is part of the free taskbar, with no account required.
Work with windows
App buttons provide contextual actions such as New Window, Hide or Show, and Quit. With the required Accessibility permission, Sill can focus, minimize, and close other apps' windows. Turning off “Combine windows by app” gives each window a titled button. For a step-by-step workflow, read how to manage open apps and windows.
Keep the clock and desktop close
The right side of the taskbar shows your local time and date. Click the clock for a calendar. A narrow control at the far right clears your windows to show the desktop; click it again to bring them back.
Adjust the bar to your setup
Choose light, dark, or automatic appearance; change icon size; turn on auto-hide; and optionally launch Sill at login. Sill hides the built-in Dock while it runs and restores your previous Dock settings when you quit. See how Dock restoration works.
What Sill Pro adds
Window previews: hover over an app button to see thumbnails of its open windows. Select a preview to switch to that window, or close an individual window from the preview. Thumbnails require Screen Recording permission. Learn what that permission allows.
A taskbar on every display: keep the bar available across connected monitors. The free taskbar remains available on one display.
Each Mac gets a 30-day trial of these Pro features, starting on first launch without an account or card. When the trial ends, the core taskbar stays free. An account is needed to subscribe. Compare the current plans and prices.
Ready to try it?
Download Sill and read the installation steps. Sill requires macOS 13 or later. The current first-launch process includes a manual approval step; the installation guide explains it.
